The Old Hall
The old hall was moved from Bovington Army camp in 1921 and had neither electricity nor a water supply. One resident recalls that her uncle was responsible for bringing a churn of water down on a cart before any event could take place. There were no indoor toilet facilities—the restroom was simply a hut with a pit, located in the woodland outside. Lighting was provided by oil lamps suspended from the ceiling, while heating came from a row of black 'Valor' paraffin stoves running down the centre of the hall, supplemented by a wood-burning stove on the stage.

Building The New Hall
Building work began in the spring of 2014 and was completed by spring 2015, ensuring that Moreton retains a vital community focal point for future generations to enjoy. This was made possible through substantial funding from The Big Lottery, Viridor, Purbeck District Council, Garfield Weston, and many other generous supporters. After three years of fundraising and building, an official opening event was held at the new Moreton Village Hall. More than 100 guest attended the opening. The guest of honour on the day was Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant of Dorset Angus Campbell, who arrived by horse drawn carriage to officially open the new facility.

The New Hall
The hall was opened in 2015 and is a popular venue for village events, regular classes and is available for hire for private functions.
